I want to thank you all who’ve participated in this blog so far. This has been the first full day since it went up and has already been pretty active. Its weird to think people who watch the show would see and want to mix it up with me, but since I had my first t.v. sighting on Sunday I realize that the show has a lot of fans. And I think rightly so. With so much mediocre programming out there Invasion hits like a bolt out of the blue.
In other news, the film Behind The Mask was accepted into the South By Southwest (sxsw) Festival in Austin, TX. Yay! If anyone’s interested it’ll be screening midnight of March 12th. Get a pass if you can. I think it’ll be a cool night. We’ll do some press in the afternoon, have a party in the evening, and by midnight I’ll be in a proper state to enjoy myself whether people like the movie or not. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Time to go. I’m doing some A.D.R. for Invasion tomorrow. I look forward to the recording sessions because I get a sneak peak at how the scenes are going to end up looking. It was a cool scene so I hope it turns out okay.
By for now,
Nathan

When you get a chance please post a new blog message describing a typical day on the Invasion set. We are a bit curious how is the show being shot and put together. How do you know when it is your turn to shoot a scene? How many times do you have to shoot a scene? Do you rehearse that scene before shooting with the rest of the actors involved? Is it easy to remember the lines?
* Great idea. I’ll post a new message breaking down a typical day of shooting.

I was also wondering how long it takes to film one episode of Invasion. What episode number is filming now?
I can’t believe you’re going to be in Austin on the 12th of March!! Dag nab it, I’m going to miss it by one day! I’m flying to LA the 11th, then on to TX on the 13th and back to NY on the 16th. The movie sounds interesting and I hope I get to see it!
And for the anal retentive personality within me, how do you pronounce your last name? Bay-sell? Buy-sell? Bay-zell? Buy-zell? or something totally different? (I know…it’s a problem with me…I keep trying to correct it…LOL)
* Maybe you can still catch the film (if you’re flying to Austin that is). I’ll be there until the 14th and maybe longer depending on the success of the film and whether or not there’s more publicity to do. The directer has assured me that there’s more than one screening at the festival; three in all though the midnight of the 12th is the first (and probably coolest). As soon as I find out the dates and times of the other two I’ll post it so anyone who wants to can catch it.

What’s an A.D.R.? Obviously I’m not a film/acting student. It’s probably something I should be able to figure out. But, alas, I can’t. Thanks in advance.

ADR stands for “Automated” or “Automatic” Dialog Replacement. It’s voice re-recording of a given scene that was usually shot outdoors.
* As always, Eugenia to the rescue!

Wow! The wallpaper photo is really hot! Could you put up a lot more photos? Believe it or not, tonight was the first time I ever managed to see Invasion. I think it is excellent. The writing is terrific. You have a really unusual role. I think you are fascinating in this. Sure hope you get a lot more time. Awesome!
* Thank you. The wallpaper (though I find it mildly embarrassing) are cool shots that Eugenia was able to find somehow.
I’m really glad you’re excited about the show. Hop on the bandwagon with us the next time it comes by.

I’m a big fan of “Invasion”, and I have to say that I love it more every week! Tonight’s episode is proof positive that this show deserves to be given the critical acclaim that it’s finally getting; let’s hope that ABC realizes what a gem they have (and I have let them know exactly how I feel!).
I was particulary impressed with your performance in tonight’s episode, Nathan. I read in the TuxTops interview that your character was not intended to last as long as it has, so I think it’s really cool that everyone realizes both what a great character Lewis is and what a great actor you are! I wish you continued success and hope to see you featured a lot more!
* Thank you TS. I think the show keeps snowballing getting bigger, faster, and tighter with each episode. I’m sure, like me, you’re always left wanting more. And you can be assured that I’m doing everything I can to ensure its success through Lewis.

Hi Nathan, Just dropping in to let you know how much I enjoyed the moments of Lewis (& Kira) in last night’s Invasion ep. Glad to see him back to his man-of-faith, innocent, positive self. I like that though Kira is younger, she is kind of moody and sophisticated, while Lewis, the older of the two, is rather sweet and hopeful. If I could put it into words again, I might someday share with you my thoughts on the prior eps - it would help if I actually researched the titles! Anyway, must go. Thank you for your good work! Yours truly
* Yeah its a strange but not altogether impossible matchup, Kira and Lewis. In spite of whatever attraction there may or may not be on her part, Lewis is certainly drawn to her in spite of the sheriff’s admonishment (is that a word?)
Joanna, this blog is for you to share your thoughts on anything, prior episodes included. Share away!

Hi (waving). When you I heard, watched (read) you say, “dios me dio un regalo hermoso, y yo lo eche a la basura” you literally had me in tears. I just wanted to say you did a marvalous job and I hope to see more of you on the show. Again, good work!
* Thank you. What does the quote mean in English, RB?

Hey, Nathan — Guess who??? Here’s a hint: I’ve known you since before you were born!!!
I only started watching Invasion because you were on it - now I’m hooked! So happy to see that you are doing so well. Printed out the interview that someone posted a link to from the board and will take to Mom today when I see her.
Luck and Love always!

Hello Nathan
I am sorry to bother you again so suddenly but you work with a cast abd crew you obviously respect and admire which is great and I was wondering if you could take each cast member and use one word to describe him and and her .. for example
Here is my one word to describe you Nathan Awesome
If you do not want to do this that is ok but it seemed like it would be fun

Hi Nathan,
Cheers, J
Sort of an FAQ question: What’s your date of birth or astrological sign? (Yes, I am a throwback to the 70s!)
Comment by Joanna — February 19, 2006 @ 4:00 pm
This is answered in his IMDb page. It was updated a few days ago.
Comment by Eugenia — February 19, 2006 @ 4:29 pm
Thanks - as it wasn’t there before, I hadn’t thought to check it again!

Hi again (waving),
Surry for the delay. As it is, Eugenia got the translation right (and by the by Eug, thanks for the leg up, kiddo). It was a line your character said three episodes back and honestly, as I watched you on screen, I was literally moved to tears. I kid you not! It was that good. I’d say, you and Mr. Fichnter are two of the most talented blokes on the show and (I’m surry to repeat myself) but it was truly a pleasure to watch you on screen. Anyhay, gotta skidaddle. Nice reading from yah and thanks for the feedback (hope that was the right phrase to use, by the by…shrug…anyhay…)

Are you going to be in the season finale ?
Any word on whether Invasion is getting a renewal ?
Are you going to be doing any movies ?
