Sorry for the lapse folks, and I promise to get to your comments but I’ve been comletely engrossed in this script that I’m writing for Invasion.
The title is “Communion” and its an attempt to illustrate some of the most profound ways humans connect with each other casually, passionately, and spiritually. There are some great ideas (a couple of which were provided by Bill Fitchner himself) and the story is moving along really quickly. Although I have to admit that I enjoyed getting lost in the process so much I’ve dropped off the planet the last couple of weeks.
In case you’re wondering, the answer is, “No, they have no idea I’m doing this”. This project was completely unsolicited, but I figured, “Hey, I’ve got time on my hands. Why not put it to use?” I’ve been having an amazingly productive time off from shooting, and I’ll be calling one of the writers on the show today to see if we can get together and chat about the script. At the very least I’ll be able to pick the brains of someone who gets paid very well to do it for a living. And best case senario is that in one form or another it gets across Shaun Cassidy’s desk. If there’s anyone who’s going to appreciate an actor trying to broaden themselves its Shaun.
I promise I’ll reply to your questions soon. As soon as I quit obsessing about this scrip.
And if anyone’s interested in checking out Behind The Mask at the SXSW festival in Austin there are three showings scheduled at midnight on March 12th, 15th, and 18th. Plenty of chances to catch it. I can assure you this is a very cool film and will definitely be worth the price of the ticket.

Hey, I was wondering Nathan. Do you use a plain text editor or Microsoft Word to write the script, or the “Final Draft” software? “Final Draft” seems to have become the standard these days regarding script writing, but it costs a bit too much ($250).

In interviews Cassidy makes it seem that he knows exactly where the story is going and how it is going to get there. I’m curious as to how difficult it must be to write a script for someone else vision? Do you guys (the actors) know where Invasion is headed and will eventually end up plot-wise? Or is the hope that your script could get used, but scenes will be added that move the overall plot in the correct direction?

I saw a picture of you in the Behind the Mask role on Tuxtops.com; I must admit, quite scary. I still don’t get if you’re a zombie or a serial killer (I’m so slow at catching onto these things)
Also, Invasion-wise; it wasn’t on today on ABC! My beloved Invasion! And the service thing can’t find it for a few weeks. Is it really cancelled? Because if it is, I have a few dozen letters to write.

Serial killer. It’s described in that interview.
>Is it really cancelled?
No, ‘Invasion’ will be broadcasted again on March 8th and 15th, with new episodes.

Hey, I might be at SXSW. Not sure if I can get away to go, but if I do I’ll try to see that one.
How can we get ABC’s Pres. Stephen McPherson to really, really appreciate Invasion? I’d heard that he’s a big fan of unique shows like that.

Hey Nathan or Eugenia,
I will be in the area around the time of the sxsw festival and I’d LOVE to catch “Mask”. I looked it up online, but the only thing I’m finding is tickets for the entire festival (which run around $250). Just wondering if either of you know of any information about getting tickets for individual films or if you know of a link where I could get more information.
BTW…Nathan, the reason I’m going to be in the area is to see Shaun Cassidy’s brother, Patrick, in a touring production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”. This could be shaping up to be the best birthday I’ve had in a long time! Seeing Patrick, and then hopefully Nathan…and before that I’m going to CA and I’m hoping to do a tour of the WB lot (that is where Invasion films, right?…LOL)
The script sounds AWESOME Nathan. I truly hope it comes to fruition and we get to see “written by: Nathan Baesel”.
I was also wondering if you were going to be doing any NY theatre work during the hiatus season? I live in NYC and would love to see you on stage!
