Like many of us, last night was my first Invasion-less Wednesday night. Fortunately I had some big season finales to fixate on. American Idol was my hands down favorite with more than a couple of, “Are you kidding me?” moments. The most notable was Prince’s appearence. Are you kidding me? Prince?!! He’s one of the most exciting live performers in the world and he was on American Idol! Did A.I. get legit on me? I mean its one thing to get Burt Bacharach and Barry Manilow for an appearence, but Prince and Mary J. Blige? Wow. And the award for the most satisfying train wreck goes to Clay Aiken’s duet with lookalike Michael Somebodyorother. My sister Kelly didn’t close her mouth again until a rivulet of drool spattered onto the coffee table. My sentiments exactly.
And congratulations to Taylor! If it couldn’t be Chris or Elliot, I’m glad its you. And really, did anyone think at the beginning of the season that this pepper-headed Joe Cocker/Ray Charles soulman had a shot? I’ll buy his album…as long as that “Do I Make You Proud?” song isn’t on it.
Top Chef also concluded last night and Harold (maybe too soft spoken for his own good) pulled out the win. Its great to see that good guys sometimes finish first.
Well, the support for Invasion keeps on coming in and keeps flooring me. You have all been so enthusiastic in your praise of the show, and your support to ensure the future of Invasion. Audiences all around the country and the UK as well have been galvinized to write when they never write, or turned activist when they would usually say, “That sucks, but oh well.” It reflects my feeling I had all the while we were working on the show: This is something special. Invasion is a very different show than the usual newtork tv offerings, and audiences will appreciate being addressed as sensitive and intelligent people rather than condescended to with formulaic tv fare. Keep up the amazing work everyone. Endure.
Nathan

Hi Nathan. Now what are you doing watching reality shows when Invasion fans have been blasting the general public’s appetite for them instead of watching original, intelligent shows like Invasion, lol. It’s great to know that you appreciate the support of the fans for the show. Do you think it will produce anything? Maybe a one off film or mini series? Even a book! What are your feelings on this? Is there hope or is it truly finally over?

Ok, You’re getting spooky on me. LOL You watched the AI finale?! Unfortunately I’ve been stuck in AI since season 2, & I cant stop. Ok, So I may need help. LOL I do love it when theres people that can really sing on it though. I loved Mandisa. Taylor grew on me & I’ve loved his spirit for most of the show. I knew he was going to win weeks ago & glad he did win, out of the two of them. Now, I have a tiny bone to pick with you, Mr. Baesel Train wreck?? yes.. That entire awards thing was a tad odd..But, Honestly it was funny. &, I had known for a few days that Clay was going to be there.. but it didnt dawn on me til he came out of the screen, that thats what was going on when Micheal was, erm, singing. I saw Mikes initial audition in the beginning & he made me laugh.. Singing talent, he obviously does not have. But, I must inform you, you are talking to a Clay fan. LOL And he was great, &, The idea of him suprising Mike was cute.. & how they ended up singing together because the guy wouldnt shut up, was oddly endearing.. & Clay was encouraging him, most-likely because he knew the guy was very happy to be there. It just gave me the heartwarming fuzzies. Now, Prince? The guy has a new CD to pimp… That was the only reason he did it. Even Prince lowers his standard when he wants to be heard I guess. LOL Anyway, If you wanna talk Train Wreck, how about Meatloaf & Kat?! That hurt worse than Taylors purple jacket the night before.
Kat.

Oh, &, Nathan…. Sorry to tell you, but, on Taylors initial CD, post-AI win… Do I Make You Proud WILL be on it. Its the typical AI winners anthem thing they get going every year. All of the songs are hokey. Even Clays “This Is The Night”… It’s just luck it had nice notes for Clays voice to sing.
LOL So, Buy Taylors CD, Just skip over DIMYP… LOL

I personally don’t watch many reality shows. As someone wrote recently on IMDb, it’s the easy way out for networks: a tv show costs $1 million per episode to shoot and then they have 20-30% profit on it. A reality show usually costs $100,000 per episode and they have 200% profit. So, they go with them and they cut on quality shows instead. Last night, I watched “Lost” instead. I personally enjoy action/sci-fi shows, just like “Invasion” was.

Nathen, don’t give up on the fans, they’re planning to flood ABC with Bottles of water with Save Invasion Logos that read, “I saw the lights, Did you? Save Invasion”
Comment by Tom — May 25, 2006 @ 8:27 pm
WHAT!!?? You mean to tell us you weren’t watching the finale of Lost, your very own lead-in show??? Ahh, screw ABC anyway.
I did catch a bit of AI during the Lost commercials. I was also surprised by the appearance of Prince. But I think my favorite was actually the appearance of Meat Loaf. He look so…normal.
By the way, the fans of Farscape ran a successful campaign when the show was canceled, and Farscape was brought back as a mini-series. While this was not the ideal conclusion, it was still better than nothing, and fans got some closure on the show arc. Invasion is a much more mainstream show so who knows what could happen…
Keep up the good work.

Honestly, I don’t have much to say that you probably haven’t heard already. But here goes nothing:
I hope the show comes back. This was the first thing I have seen you in and now they take it off. They deprive us of the show, of you, and William Fichtner?! It was a chance for me and other fans to see more of William and in my case, to just find out about you. It makes me want to cry. Honestly it does. And I don’t know if you know this but they don’t even credit you on the Invasion part of IMDB.com which they should! I happen across your blog via fans on the Invasion forum. They should have you listed because to me you are a key person to the show. But I’m glad I came across your blog and found out who you are so that I can look forward to any of your future projects.
I would think that since ALIAS is off, Invasion would get more publicity that it deserves. Is it me or did it not get enough advertisement? Both LOST and ALIAS got a lot of hype and because of it, to me, Invasion was just pushed aside.
But like I said, I’m sure you’ve heard all this before.
Take care

Hi Nathan,
I just wanted to pop in, and tell you we are officially depressed. We loved Invasion. I’ve been so busy making “Save Invasion” banners, buttons and anything else I can think of for our little plight, I hadn’t had a chance to even tell you how much we miss you already.
My 4 year old even asked
“how come Lewis isnt on”
She loved you on that show.
You all did such wonderful jobs making your charactors “real” to us. It really makes me sick ABC didnt stick it out with you all for one more season. Or atleast long enough to finish telling the story you had all so beautifully woven for us. Its nice to ecscape from reality every once in a while, and to do it with a show with charactors you feel you KNOW…
well, you get the idea.
Big hugs to you, and I will be on the look out for your future projects.
Here’s hoping Invasion can come back in some form!

Nathan, you did an incredible job as Lewis! Everyone on “Invasion” was brilliant. One of the best written and acted shows ever. I was absolutely shocked when my daughter pointed out “Invasion” in the list of cancelled shows. I couldn’t believe ABC could be so stupid! We will do everything possible to save “Invasion”!

Well Nathan it’s sad to see Invasion get the axe after it really started to pick up momentum. You and everyone else did a great job. Hopefully this little movement from the fans will produce something… even just a made-for-TV movie. Just a fitting conclusion after that huge cliffhanger. Maybe strong DVD sales will bring it back? It happened to Family Guy..
Good luck in your future endeavours and maybe we’ll see you somewhere next season. Hopefully Invasion season two!

Congratulations for a job well done. “Lewis” could have been a idealistic cartoon of a believer in the hands of someless talented. You brought a wonderful sensitivity and wholesomeness to a character who was complex and true to himself. I love Invasion (as do so many others) and if we can’t get it back, please know how much we appreciate you and the others in the cast for creating such a wonderful experience for us.. Like so many other people I will be looking for your name in the credits. Good luck in the future and thank you.

Nathan,
Did you see the 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction of George Harrison? Prince pretty much floored everyone with his INCREDIBLE solo in “While my Guitar Genly Weeps”.
If you missed it, go to YouTube and type in, “Gently Weeping Prince”. You can listen to the short version, but beings I’m a die hard Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers fan, I recommend the Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, and Prince 6 min 30 second version. You see Prince exchanging toothy grins with Tom Petty, and Dhani Harrison behind them obviously blown away by the solo. It was truly memorable.
