First I’d like to say to my Italian friend there, I can’t save Invasion. I don’t think Superman could save Invasion, and he’s Superman! Well, maybe Superman could. Maybe I could. Okay, I’ll save Invasion.
For any L.A. area friends out there I wanted to invite you all to a screening of my film Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon. This will be the last U.S. screening of the film before our release in January. Screamfest L.A. is the premier horror festival and they have given us the closing night spot to wrap up the whole shebang. It’ll be on Saturday October 21st at 9:30 PM. Moreover the event is held at Mann’s Chinese in Hollywood! Its going to be a great crowd, a great film, a great night, and there’s bound to be a great party afterward. On top of all of that, Robert “Freddy Kruger” Englund, Zelda “Poltergeist” Rubenstein, and Scott “In Cold Blood” Wilson will all be there with the rest of the cast and the director of BTM. If you haven’t seen the film yet, this is the night to do it. But get your tickets now because its going to sell out quick. To order tickets online go to:
screamfestla.com
I hope to see you there, and please come up and say “hi”.

I am so sad that I can’t be there to see it! I know it will be a gret night and you will have a great time.

Hmmmm….hubby would have my HEAD on a platter (and oddly enough, I think that might please Leslie!) if I were to tell him I’m jetting from NY to LA to see a movie (not just ANY movie mind you, but he won’t understand that!)
I really wish I could be there…and if the lottery Gods smile upon me, then I will. Have a spectacular night. I’m sure BTM will wow them in LA as it has done worldwide!
January release now, huh? *grumble, grumble, grumble* Nothing good to see in theatres this Halloween then! *grumble, grumble grumble* Guess I’ll just have to rent some of Leslie’s “heroes” on celluloid instead! (well it’s either that or watch the trailer for BTM at www.behindthemaskthemovie.com about a million times!)
Hey Nathan, is your son going as Leslie for Halloween? (just kidding!)
Have a great time and don’t forget to tell us all about it!!!!

My Wife called me this morning from her dental office and asked me to find out what time “Invasion” was on tonight, and that she was going to the market after work to pick up “something special” for our dinner, and our normal “Invasion” snacks as well. we have been discussing what we have seen of the program all summer and both of us have been very anxious to pick up where we left off. I just now found out about the shows cancelation and I honestly feel like someone just kicked the wind out of me. This was “her” program that I later got hooked on myself, but most importantly, it was good quality entertainment and quality time we could share together. I am having a hard time fighting back tears, I know that my Wife won’t be able to fight them back. Forgive me, but DAMN YOU ABC! Nathan, I am so sorry for this miserable turn of events, hope you are doing fine and we look forward to more of your work. Any chance of finding out the “rest of the story” somehow? Take Care.. This is my first time posting on your blog, and I just want to say how nice it is that you connect with the fans like this. Invasion was a wonderful show, and I mourn its passing. I bought the DVD set, and spent the last month rewatching the season. When I got to the final episode, I was saddened all over again that the show wouldn’t be picking up for the new season. My Wednesdays won’t be the same — what am I going to watch after Lost?
I suppose we should be glad it lasted a whole season, many good shows don’t even get that much. And on DVD it will live on forever, as a wonderful story in and of itself. Thank you for you wonderful work on Invasion, and I hope you do well on your future endeavors. It was such a great ensemble cast, I’m sure you’ll all go on to wonderful careers.

Hey Nathan,
It’s good to see you posting again!
I’m with Annie when I say I WISH I could hop on a plane from Cleveland to see the movie. Somehow I don’t think my husband, three kids, and boss would understand. I guess I’ll have to wait.
It must be so exciting for you to have this screening take place, I really have a feeling that this is going to be exactly what you’ve hoped for and now your career will REALLY take off!
Best of luck to you, you really deserve it!!!

Well, I wanted to express to someone how much I enjoyed this movie, so here I am! I saw the movie (Behind the Mask) last night here in Toronto, and I loved it. The main actor (uhhh, you, if you read these) displayed fantastic comedic timing and adeptness for physical comedy, as well as adding texture and nuance to the character. If people see this in droves, which they should, your days of In Touch going through your garbage will soon follow. (It’s a good thing… I guess.)
