A few thoughts.

I was pouring water into the Brita filter last night and I was naked (as I often am) in our brightly lit kitchen. The shades were closed so I wasn’t afraid of upsetting the neighbors but I suppose an industrious passer-by could find an opening for a curious peep show. And I thought to myself, “I don’t ever want to NOT be able to walk around in my home naked.” Can I find a way to work whenever I want to on any kind of project I’d like without In Touch going through my garbage? I wonder…

The screening for Behind The Mask went incredibly well. The audience response has continued to be shockingly enthusiastic. Fans of the slasher genre and non-fans alike are finding the film equally enjoyable. I’m biting my nails about January’s release. It could open a door for me or send me back to the drawing board. Added to the anticipation of January 9th’s release is the anticipation of our second child due on THE 5TH! Is it possible to spontaneously combust or is that just something that happens on C.S.I.?

  2. Congratulations Nathan! Will Nate have a baby brother, or sister?

Personally, I don’t think you need to bite any nails, because you were fantastic in BTM! Your time will come in January when the film opens. I really think so. But on the other end, won’t the success of the film, and the many ones to follow, be a precursor to the possible end of your nudie treks to the kitchen? :) Unfortunately it’s the Hollywood way I think. Right? Paparazzi waiting in the bushes for a sneak photo, fans trying to get a peek at whatever they can. Had you ever experienced that behavior with the popular Invasion actors? (Eddie Cibrian, Bill Fichtner) Did you get recognized when you went out in public? I am very curious about this. You could always get a set of Dobermans!
Anyway, congratulations on your very good news…

But its really sad because I’ll say a line from the movie (ex. You can’t be my partner because your faster than me) and my friends just look at me like I’m crazy!!! Oh and whenever I see my grandma we start talking about it… I guess I just really liked it… ha ha… well the first part of your blog I could have done without… lol jk… But best of luck and see you soon!

  8. Hi Nathan,
Congratulations on the baby news! Yay! That’s wonderful!!! As for the paparazzi, never change your lifestyle for them (or anyone else for that matter). As Matthew McConaughey once said, In the end of the day, it’s just a good use of film! ;) Best wishes!

  9. Sounds like you’re going to have a very busy new year Mr. Baesel! Congrats to you, your wife and the new big brother!

Don’t sweat the looky-loos. Nothing wrong with walking nakey through your own house!

While watching “100 Scariest Movie Moments” on Bravo last night, I couldn’t help but think that BHM will be on that list soon! I haven’t even seen the movie yet, but the trailer is awesome and I can’t wait for January to get here!

Leslie didn’t do all that cardio for no reason!

  13. Nathan, I thought you were absolutely wonderful in BTM. After seeing this film, I told everyone to check it out. I am sure this film will open many doors for you in the future. I’m already a fan of yours. I’m glad to see that there are still good horror films being made. Movies like this makes me excited about being a film student. Congrats on everything.
