Put your hands up!

I got tickets today for The Police tour! Dodger Stadium! Seriously. Its going to be incredible. My hope is that in addition to having fun, playing their music, and breaking some records, the guys are using this limited world tour to test the waters. If the tempers permit and if the muse delights these three very prolific guys will hopefully record again. New material after twenty years…that would be sweet.

Oscar.

I can’t tell you how many times I sat down to write something on this blog but ended up staring at a white screen for far too long before I put it aside for another time. I just didn’t feel like I had anything to write about. I mean there where seismic events going on but they were mostly personal. Professionally there wasn’t much to speak of and I’m still getting the swing of using this blog as a journal.

I appreciate your comments and well wishes over the past few months. The Without A Trace episode which aired recently went much better than I was anticipating. I wasn’t at the top of my game because I began work on it two days after the birth of my son. But despite sleep deprivation I gave the best I had and they edited around my short comings well enough.

I’m looking forward to Behind The Mask’s release in a couple weeks. I hope it finds an audience.

I’m looking forward to the Academy Awards. Its always an event for my wife and I. She gets so excited about awards shows its adorable. It looks like its just us this year but that suits me fine. We’ll have fun snacky stuff, beer, comment on his/her hair/outfit, try not to squirm when an uncomfortable red-carpet moment happens, have a nice dinner, hope the good ones win, feel bad when the good one loses, enjoy both good and bad speeches. It’ll be fun. Kim and I have made a real effort to see the Best Picture nominees but we rarely went to the movies even before the baby. What we had to do with The Queen was tagteam babysit so the other could go to the theater by themself. I enjoyed The Queen. I was surprised how much I enjoyed Babel. I was captivated by the images. The wedding reception perfectly conveyed that kind of celebration. The deaf-mute rolling in the club, feeling the music. The two boys on the bluff as they’re buffeted by the winds coarsing through the canyons. I was surprised at how unimpressed I was with The Departed. I wish I’d seen it before all the hype. I enjoyed Little Miss Sunshine so much I hugged my wife as we were walking out of the theater. In the end the only nominee we haven’t seen is Letters From Iwo Jima. I’ve heard really good things about it and I’m looking forward to catching it on dvd. I wish I’d seen Pan’s Labyrinth, The Lives Of Others, The Good Shepherd, Venus, Dreamgirls and a bunch of others. Like this year’s Superbowl I don’t much care who wins, just as long as the game is good.

Have fun. Take care.

P.S. I don’t know what happened to the Invasion Forum. It may have imploded.
